Leaving the European Single Market has opened the potential for new barriers in the movement of goods and services within the UK. The UK Government has launched its White Paper on the UK Internal Market for public consultation.

This brief primer outlines the context for this White Paper, key proposals in it and particular issues it raises with respect to Northern Ireland in light of the obligations of the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland.
