The 2016 ESRC Festival of Social Science will take place from 5th - 12th November 2016 and the Northern Ireland programme is now welcoming applications for event funding.

The 2016 ESRC Festival of Social Science will take place from 5th – 12th November 2016. Following the success of last year, Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University and the Open University will continue to programme the festival in Northern Ireland and are now welcoming applications for event funding.

Successful applicants will be awarded a maximum of £500 per event to cover speaker’s fees/travel and consumables (venue hire will be procured centrally).

The festival is a week-long celebration of the social sciences, with more than 200 free events taking place across the UK for everyone from schoolchildren to politicians. Events include public debates, conferences, workshops, interactive seminars, film screenings, virtual exhibitions, performance and much more.

Applications from areas outside Social Science will be considered if they have an interdisciplinary link.

The deadline to submit an application is 4pm 19th May.
